hello there,
This is Chearmin, she's an 19yo girl happily breathing Singapore's air. She is now studying Diploma in Visual Communication (which is NOT Mass Comm), a course all about graphic design, illustrations & photography. A crazy cat lady who adores cats (duh.), her eyes glimmer upon spotting beautiful things e.g. cameras & vintage items. & she definitely loves Jesus. † she absolutely love getting crafty & all, because it makes her happy. she wants to get lost in a surreal world and be eaten by her eccentric thoughts. would you care to join her for a cup of tea in the middle of the forest?

  Night Festival 2012.

It was simply, AMAZING.

I felt so inspired and alive after the night, it's been so long since I did a shoot for a few hours, especially in the night.

It was a great and interesting challenge to me because,
1. I was facing night time. That means low light conditions, and ugly digital grains all over. Had to pump up my ISO to a 800 to get the best lightings.
2. Worked with Toni's 50mm f1.4 lens all the way through the festival. Wasn't really comfortable with the focal distance (it was really awkward moving from a 18mm-200mm kit to 50mm prime).
Alas, the depth of field, was. so. BREATHTAKING. just, wondrous. Prime lense made my life.
3. Constantly on the move. It was a Peek!'s night excursion so we had to move along with the guide to our various destinations. Hard to get good still shots sometimes.
4. The extra humans/heads you don't wanna get into your photos. It's just so annoying sometimes, but I know, other photographers must have been cursing about me popping my head up high. :p

After the whole event, I definitely learnt more about prime lenses and how it works; it's my first time using it! And I'm pretty amazed by the results from the night. :)

One of the diving moments. Did I mention that the performace was held above our heads? They were diving above us, just by a transparent platform barrier. So surreal.

Mylar was so MAGICAL. just, asdghkjdsl. I don't know what to say, it's just such an abstract and wonderful performance. Something I've always dreamt about to see come to life, something very surreal yet close to my heart. It was by far the most memorable moments of that night.

Saw SEYRA for the second time this year! I was so stoked to hear a familiar voice with those familiar instruments. Turns out, it was them! Had a great time trying to shoot them too. It served as a eargasm, & also a platform for my gig photography practice.

The night was so young, and fun. This is the kind of nights I should be enjoying when I get legal. Not just waste my nights off with alcohol that kills my liver. (okay, a cocktail wouldn't hurt :p)

Off to Gardens by the Bay outing with Visual Central! It's another awesome photoshoot day ♥
